```Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team.
As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate and timely financial information to management.
This is a key leadership role that requires strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to effectively manage a team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, account reconciliation and payroll.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements
- Manage the general ledger reconciliation process
- Perform double entry bookkeeping and maintain accurate records
- Coordinate and oversee the annual audit process
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Provide guidance and support to staff members on accounting-related matters
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Conduct regular reviews of financial processes to identify areas for improvement
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of general ledger reconciliation, double entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage or similar systems - Proficient in payroll processing, accounts payable, and general ledger reconciliation
- Experience with governmental accounting and regulatory reporting is a plus
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
